Let’s celebrate! This year, GW Homes marks its 50^th year of building quality homes in South East Queensland. We reckon it’s a great time to take a look back at where we’ve come from, and where we’re planning to head in the next 50 years. Over the last half a century, many Queensland builders have come and gone. But GW Homes is still in business and going strong. How do we do it?

A history of solid building practices

GW Homes began back in 1964, when our founder Grant Williams started building homes in Brisbane with his business partner, Peter Makepeace. Two years later, GW Homes was registered as a business name and our story officially began.

In his time as a builder, Grant Williams served as the President of the Queensland Master Builders’ Association (now Master Builders Queensland) and is now a life member of the organisation. Grant was also a judge of the QMBA and Australian Home of the Year for a whopping 16 years. Today, the next Williams generation, Andrew, Mathew and Jody, are proud to carry on his commitment to quality and service in home building. Our sub-contractors and tradesmen have also bought into the GW Homes philosophy, and many have worked with us for decades. It’s the same solid business principles that Grant Williams introduced half a century ago that stand us in good stead today. Thanks, Dad.

In 2016, GW Homes is proud to have completed more than 3,000 homes for families in South East Queensland. But we’re just getting started!
