To start off, we don’t publicly post reviews.Taking into account the journey of building for the first time, on a very difficult site, during the COVID years, we needed to acknowledge the work of GW homes, and have been an amazing builder.

With GW Homes we were dealing with people, starting with Wayne McPhee as our consultant, from the initial engagement to post handover.Firstly a site visit to view a narrow site, with limited access a deep slope, their hardest build yet.
Guided us to a design concept and final plans that worked with the slope of the land to achieve a wonderful home with better cost outcomes.
In the construction phase Slav our building supervisor, during this difficult period managed suppliers the trades people, neighborhood and followed with good communication and attention detail.
Mason as construction manager worked closely with Slav to facilitate completion and constantly wanting to validate that work performed was do correctly in wanting to achieving a high quality of finish.

This journey was not without it’s bumps such as bad weather, shortages and sometimes the trades would have a bad day.

A true test is post handover where there are a few things to tidy up as with any custom build, but they have remained focus in completing/resolving these items as a priority.

During this time the people at GW Homes represented themselves with great professionalism and coupled that with a genuine care and understanding that we are a family building a home, and worked to achieve an amazing result.

I was originally building my house with another builder, but due to their bankruptcy, QBCC selected GW Homes as the replacement builder. The site supervisor, Geoff, has been incredibly convenient by providing weekly updates with photos, detailing the progress of the construction. What impressed me the most was when water kept pooling at the back of the house, and we suspected a leak in the pipes. Geoff promptly investigated and found no leaks on our side. It turned out that the adjacent property had a higher ground level, causing rainwater to seep into our backyard. Thanks to Geoff’s expertise and the proper installation of stormwater drainage by GW Homes, the issue was resolved, and no more water pooling occurred. Although the construction period was extended due to the water pooling problem, GW Homes handled it meticulously.

I am extremely satisfied with the results. The construction process was smooth, and the attention to detail was impressive. The team was professional and responsive to all my inquiries. The quality of the workmanship is excellent, and I am enjoying my new home to the fullest. I wholeheartedly recommend GW Homes.

We have just finished a 6 month build on the north side of Brisbane on a sloping block (18 degrees) we can’t be happier with the whole team at GW homes, from Andrew and Matt down, their communication has amazing and the quality is better than we thought! The tradesman are amazing at their trades and take pride in everything they do and nothing is too hard for them.

Our decision to have a new home built at Margate brought out all the predictable horror stories about hidden expenses, delays, cost over-runs and hassles with builders. Buy an existing house, people urged us, it’s a lot easier.

But they were all wrong. GW Homes built us exactly the home we envisaged. Six months after completion – which occurred under cost and a month ahead of schedule – no problems have emerged, and builder friends tell us they’ve rarely seen a build where good design, finish and attention to detail are so immediately evident. Throughout the construction GW’s builders and staff were always friendly and open in their dealings with us, and always available to answer queries.

I just want to quickly send a big Thank You to the Maintenance team for looking after the issues I raised recently. The team attended and fixed the non-compliance rangehood which was installed in the property four years ago.

To be honest, I did not have much expectation when contacting GW Homes about the issue. However the Maintenance team lead promptly responded to my enquiry and sent out the electrician to fix the rangehood within a week. Through my real estate agent, I learned that the electrician was very professional, punctual and performed the work with due diligence. Needless to say, as a customer I am indeed very pleased.

Being a manager myself, I cannot emphasise strongly enough how important it is to recognise individuals and team effort within an organisation when they do a good job. I hope this email finds the Manintenance team well and I hope you guys keep up the good work in the future.
