When planning a new home, people often are wrapped up in the exciting decisions, such as which floorplan suits their needs or what cabinet finishes they prefer. However, there’s one key decision to make before all the others: Which builder will you work with?
Below are some of the questions you should ask your builder and answers to these questions from our Managing Director, Andrew Williams.
How many years have you been in business? GW Homes started in 1966 and we have been designing and building homes in Queensland for over 50 years.
How many homes have you built? We have built over 3,500 homes and completed over 40 commercial projects.
Are you fully licenced? GW Homes is licensed by the Queensland Building and Construction Commission, you can check out our full licence history here.
What sort of new home warranty do you offer? GW Homes are proudly offering a Lifetime Structural Guarantee with your new home.
Do you only build from existing floorplans or design new plans? Once we completely understand your needs, it’s time to begin designing your ideal home. An important decision at this point is whether you’d prefer a pre-existing GW Homes design, or to create your own unique custom home design.
Who will be overseeing the construction of my home? During your build, we will have two points of contact, your Design Consultant and your Project Manager. Both these staff members will be on hand to answer any questions you may have. All of our Project Managers are licensed builders in their own right.
How long will it take to build my home? Our home building contracts are all 6 month builds, unless otherwise agreed.
How and when will the final cost of my home be determined? The final cost of the home will be signed in a contract by you prior to any work being undertaken. You will know the exact price of your home before we have even dug a hole!
Can I view a current project you’re working on? We have 100’s of homes built all around Queensland, give our friendly staff a call and we will be able to facilitate a viewing.
Can you provide me with references or testimonials from previous home buyers? Absolutely!
